In addition to conventional analysis tools for HC, CO, CO2, NOx, etc., FEERC also has the following unique instrumentation:

Spatially Resolved Capillary Inlet Mass Spectrometer (SpaciMS)
Fast-response, direct-sampling mass spectrometry for emission control device diagnostics

Fast UV instrument
Ultra-violet absorption instrument for ammonia concentration with no water interference

Characterization of exhaust particles by

  • time-integrated mass measurement
  • near-real-time measurement by tapered element oscillating microbalance (TEOM)
  • particle sizing by micro-orifice uniform deposit impactor (MOUDI) system and scanning mobility particle sizer (SMPS)
  • near-real-time optical particulate measurement via diesel particle scatterometer
  • on-site analysis of particulate matter composition
