Simulation of multi-phase flow reactors

Principal Investigator:
C. Stuart Daw

Other collaborators (including ORNL personnel):
Charles E.A. Finney
Sreekanth Pannala (ORNL)
Tom O'Brien (NETL)
Dhanunjay S. Boyalakuntla (ORISE)

Funding Source:
DOE - NETL, OIT

Project Focus:
ORNL and NETL are collaborating on the development of tools for simulating multi-phase flow reactors, specifically fluidized-bed reactors used by the U.S. chemical industry. This activity includes ORNL's participation in the DOE-OIT Multi-Phase Flow Dynamics Research Consortium (MFDRC) and ORNL's collaboration with NETL in the development of the MFIX and BUBSIM codes.
