Education
Ph.D., Physics, University of Tennessee, 1995
B.S., Physics, North Carolina State University, 1989
Dr. Parks joined the Fuels, Engines, and Emissions Research Center at Oak Ridge National Laboratory in 2003. His research interests include catalysis for lean engine emission control, emissions analysis of efficient combustion, and novel techniques for advanced diagnostics of engine systems. Currently, Dr. Parks conducts research on catalysts for emission control of multi-cylinder diesel engines operating in advanced combustion modes such as Premixed-Charge Compression Ignition (PCCI). He is a member of the American Physical Society and the Society of Automotive Engineers.
